09 Nov Surpriya’s Story: A Love like No Other
The arms of a loving God reached into the darkness of my shame, confusion and doubt of who I was and called me His.
I always felt like a square peg in a round hole, like I was dwelling on the margins of life. No one really understood the REAL me; the one underneath the smiles and the ‘poster child in her Sunday best’ which became part of a well-crafted performance. I lived out of sync with who I was — being drawn to women.
I was drowning in shame and guilt; alone, unseen and unheard.
Except, Yahweh El-Roi, the God who sees, saw me. He saw my deep yearning for love, intimacy and community. He restored me, and gave me a family and church community who lovingly journeyed life with me.
Love is patient, Love is kind, it does not hold record of wrong. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13)
Love lifted me to who I am meant to be and He wants to do the same for you.
Love,
Supriya
